    Description

Huge oversized training model, double the size of a M1 garand, made of case aluminum parts and unable to fire. It measures 63 inches; if it had a stock attached it would measure at least seven feet long. Made by Reflectone Corporation during the 40s/ early 50s for use as a training aid for new Army recruits to show them how the weapon functioned. The orange painted areas on the model indicate where the model is cut away. The chamber, gas port, barrel are cut away to show the inner workings of the firearm. Probably used through the end of WW2 and through the Korean War when our military used M1 Garands still.
The bolt and bolt carrier cycles backwards and forwards, and the parts move and appear to work. It comes with a giant M1 Garand clip, although it does not come with the dummy oversized bullets that did come with these models. The fire control group/pack with hammer, trigger, sear etc. is missing. The model is otherwise complete and in pretty good shape but does not have the giant balsa wood stock these typically came with.
These are extremely rare today in any condition as Reflectone only made a few hundred of the M1 garands and most of them were scrapped. They also made oversized models for the M1/M2 carbine, the BAR, and the 1919a4. This would look great hanging on a wall or for any collector, a museum, or anyone who loves unique WW2/Korean war items.
We have an Reflectone Corp. M1 carbine oversized model for sale as well. Will ship promptly and carefully.
