Description
I purchased a small collection of ephemera of Jacob H. Klein, Jr., and Doyen Klein, whose careers in the United States Navy spanned the 1920s through the 1950s.Doyen was assigned to the Naval Attache’s Office in London, England, during the outset of World War II.
Captain Doyen Klein was a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Class of 1935. He served a distinguished career in the Navy and retired with the rank of Captain. Before the United States entered World War II, he served as an advisor with British forces and helped establish the first U.S. Navy Mine Recovery school.
This pass for Doyen Klein to the American Embassy at Grosvenor Square, W.I., London, England, is dated December 10, 1941, just one day before Congress declares war on Germany.
