This is a general purpose backpack with the New Balance logo.  It has two zippered compartments.  The larger of the two is padded on both sides, is about 16 inches deep and 12 inches wide. It also expands to about 2 inches.  More than enough for a 17 inch laptop.
The smaller zippered compartment reveals 2 small pockets, a zippered enclosure and a larger, deep open pocket.
The base of the backpack expands to approximately 6 inches.
Just to give you an Idea of the capacity, I have an identical backpack that I use to keep random things organized in my vehicle. Among the things included in my backpack are the following: a 12oz spray bottle, a handheld vacuum with accessories, a frisbee, a Nerf football, spare t-shirt, hand towel, small flashlight and small first aid kit.
