Offered here is an original 1943 WWII Class book for pilot class 43-C at Goodfellow Field, San Angelo, Texas entitled "CAVU" (Ceiling and Visibility Unlimited). This copy belonged to pilot Joseph Foster Jonas and has an old newspaper clipping from his wedding to Miss Doratha Ann DuBois.
72 pages copiously illustrated, measures 8" X 10 1/4",  with sensational period Air Corps photos in original padded leather or vinyl covers as issued. Includes fold-out drawing of soldier with what looks to be a P-39 Airacobra.
Great period piece with cautionary blurb beneath unflattering caricature of Japanese soldier at beginning, "Due to the nature of the National Emergency, it has been necessary to revise the original organization of the "C.A.V.U". Under military orders, complete rosters of personnel and classes in group pictures cannot be published..."
Slight wear - overall a nice representation.
